Your First Visit

Your first visit to a new practice can be intimidating. We hope the following information will help put your mind at ease.

Health questionnaire
Before your consultation you will be asked to complete a questionnaire about your general health, medical treatment you may be receiving and medication you might be taking. You will also be asked about smoking and alcohol consumption as these have a bearing on things like gum health and mouth cancer. Naturally, all this information is treated in the strictest confidence.

Consultation
At your initial consultation we will take time to learn about you and your oral health concerns. We will ask you about any problems you may be experiencing and about any improvement you might like to make to your smile. In addition to a thorough examination of your teeth and gums you will receive a mouth cancer check. And because prevention is better than cure, you will be offered hints and tips on diet and oral hygiene.

Digital x-rays
All essential x-rays will be taken at your first visit, at no extra cost to you.

Photographs and study models
Photographs are useful in many situations and casts of your teeth are often required where crowns, bridges or dentures are being contemplated.

Making a treatment plan
Once all the necessary information has been gathered, you will be presented with a written and clearly itemised treatment plan. It will be then for you to decide precisely what treatment you would like to receive. You are under no obligation to follow our recommendations and no treatment will be provided without your consent.

Payment
You can pay for your treatment in advance or visit by visit. We accept all major credit & debit cards, and welcome payment by cash or cheque.
